Dr. Eisner’s background in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering sparked his passion for ophthalmology and laser vision technology. Driven by a desire to excel in laser surgery, he pursued advanced education to become a leading expert in the field. His academic journey includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas.
- Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University
- The Doctor of Medicine program at Texas Tech University School of Medicine
- Family Medicine Internship in Lubbock
- A four-year Ophthalmology residency program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Dr. Eisner brings a wealth of experience that goes beyond formal education. Since starting his practice in 1984, he has specialized in treating and performing surgery for various eye diseases. His expertise spans all areas of general eye care, including cataract surgery, glaucoma management, and pediatric ophthalmology.
In 1991, Dr. Eisner started performing radial keratotomy, a refractive procedure that predated laser technology, and soon after, he began specializing in refractive surgery. By the time LASIK received FDA approval in 1996, Dr. Eisner was already highly skilled in the field. He became the first ophthalmologist in Central Georgia to perform LASIK and, having treated thousands of patients, is now the region’s most experienced laser eye surgeon.
